I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Rose quartz is one of the most quietly powerful stones in the mineral world. Formed deep within pegmatite rock over millions of years, its signature blush comes from trace amounts of titanium, iron, and manganese; a delicate chemistry that produces a colour unlike anything else in nature.

The stone has a softness to it that goes beyond appearance. Rose quartz belongs to the quartz family, one of the hardest and most abundant minerals on earth, yet it carries a translucency and warmth that feels almost tender.

This piece centres on a single rose quartz orb, hand-polished into a perfect sphere to draw out the stone’s natural luminosity. The rounded form catching light from every angle and revealing the subtle shifts in tone and depth that make each stone entirely its own.

Sterling silver accent beads punctuate the design with small, precise details that bring a cool stillness to the piece.

Finished on an 18 inch sterling silver fine curb chain, the necklace sits beautifully, a length that works well alone or as part of a layered arrangement.
