I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Lapis Lazuli

One of the oldest and most revered gemstones in human history, Lapis Lazuli has been prized for over six thousand years. Its deep, celestial blue, flecked with golden pyrite and white calcite, was once more valuable than gold and was ground into pigment to create the ultramarine blue used by the great masters of Renaissance painting.

At Rachel Hartley Atelier, each Lapis Lazuli piece is chosen for the depth and richness of its colour, crafted to honour the extraordinary heritage and beauty of this ancient stone.

Associated with the Third Eye and Throat chakras, Lapis Lazuli is said to enhance wisdom, truth and self-expression, encouraging the wearer to speak with clarity, live with integrity and seek deeper understanding in all things.
