I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Citrine in its natural, unworked state is a different thing entirely from the bright, uniform stones found in commercial jewellery. Raw and untreated, it holds the honest geometry of the crystal: the ridges, the internal warmth, the variations in tone that shift from pale champagne to deep amber depending on the light and the depth of the stone. No two raw citrines are alike. Each one carries its own character, its own particular quality of gold.

Citrine is associated with the solar plexus chakra and has long been considered a stone of warmth, confidence, and creative energy. It is one of the few crystals said to hold only positive energy, neither absorbing nor storing negativity, which has made it a favoured talisman for those seeking clarity of purpose and a steady, generative optimism. It is sometimes called the merchant's stone, associated with abundance and the kind of practical confidence that turns intention into action.

This is a statement piece. A raw natural citrine crystal sits in a claw setting that holds the stone securely while preserving its unworked form, the rough surface, the depth of colour, the sense of something elemental brought into wearable jewellery. The claws grip without concealing, allowing the full character of the stone to remain visible from every angle. The stone measures approximately 20mm × 15mm × 8mm, excluding the setting.

The band is adjustable, designed to sit comfortably across a range of finger sizes. Sterling silver throughout, with a finish that complements the warm, golden tones of the citrine without competing with them.

The result is a ring that makes itself known, worn as an everyday talisman or saved for when it matters.
