I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

A single pink tourmaline heart, tiny and precisely formed, set onto an adjustable sterling silver band. It is a small thing that carries a particular kind of presence.

Pink tourmaline is a stone of remarkable range. A member of the tourmaline group, one of the most chemically complex mineral families on earth, its colour is produced by trace amounts of manganese within the crystal structure.  A small shift in chemistry that yields everything from the palest blush to a deep, saturated rose. It forms in pegmatite rock, growing slowly in conditions of intense heat and pressure, which is perhaps why it carries such a concentrated energy.

Pink tourmaline has long been associated with the heart chakra. It is said to carry a warm, compassionate energy, one that encourages emotional healing, self-love, and a gentle opening to connection. Where rose quartz soothes, pink tourmaline is thought to activate: drawing in love, dissolving old emotional patterns, and supporting the kind of quiet courage it takes to feel things fully. It is a stone for tenderness without fragility.

The heart carving draws out the stone’s colour fully, its smooth, polished surface allowing light to move through the stone with a soft, glowing clarity. At this scale, the effect is intimate, something to notice up close, to wear as a private reminder rather than a statement.

Set onto an adjustable sterling silver band, the ring is designed to fit a wide range of sizes comfortably, a considered detail that makes it as well suited to gifting as it is to keeping.
