I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

A polished round Larimar stone forms the centre of this one-of-a-kind necklace, its soft, sea-blue colour complemented by the cool sheen of sterling silver. The rounded shape gives the pendant a gentle balance, with handcrafted wirework following the stone’s natural curves.

Found only in the Dominican Republic, Larimar has a distinctive connection to the Caribbean landscape. Its sea-blue colour evokes the waters surrounding its island home, bringing a sense of place to this individually handcrafted piece.

Sterling silver wire curves around the Larimar and rises into the bail, then flows back towards the front to form a gentle loop detail before rejoining and completing the bail. This continuous line gives the setting a sculptural quality, adding a quiet flourish while keeping the stone at the heart of the design. Paired with an 18-inch fine sterling silver curb chain, it is a piece to wear close and treasure for its individuality.

In crystal traditions, Larimar is associated with tranquillity, clear communication and emotional balance. Often chosen as a symbol of serenity, it offers a thoughtful reminder to slow down and express yourself with gentleness and confidence. These associations are spiritual traditions rather than established healing effects.
