Welcome to Rachel Hartley Atelier

I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

A single blue tourmaline, simply and precisely set. Each earring suspends one stone from a sterling silver stud, with sterling silver micro beads gathered above the tourmaline to frame it with quiet structure. The effect is minimal but considered, a composed drop that moves with the wearer and catches the light with understated intention.

Blue tourmaline, known as Indicolite, is among the rarest expressions of the tourmaline family. Its colour ranges from the palest ice-blue to a deep, saturated teal, and is formed when trace amounts of iron and titanium shift within the stone's boron silicate crystal structure during growth. No two stones form exactly alike. Indicolite is associated with the Throat and Third Eye chakras, and is held to support clear communication, inner truth, and the kind of heightened perception that comes from learning to be still.

Worn as an everyday piece or alongside other tourmaline work, these earrings carry all of that depth in the smallest possible form. They coordinate beautifully with the Sterling Silver Multi-Colour Tourmaline Drop Necklace, the blue of the earring echoing the Indicolite in the necklace's three-stone drop.
