I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Natural citrine has a warmth to it that is immediate and uplifting. A rich, golden yellow somewhere between the glow of late afternoon light and the depth of warm honey, a stone that radiates energy and draws the eye with quiet confidence. The AAA grade natural citrine stones used in this collection are selected for the intensity and evenness of their colour and the precision of their faceting.

True natural citrine is rarer than most people realise. Much of what is sold commercially is heat-treated amethyst, its colour artificially induced. Natural citrine forms through geological heating within the earth itself, its warm golden tone the result of iron impurities within the quartz crystal structure. It is found primarily in Brazil, Madagascar, and the Congo, and stones of genuine natural colour and wearable quality are genuinely limited. Associated with the solar plexus chakra, it is considered a stone of warmth, confidence, and creative energy, one of the few crystals said to hold only positive energy, neither absorbing nor storing negativity. It is sometimes called the merchant’s stone, associated with abundance and the kind of practical confidence that turns intention into action.

This ring is built around a sterling silver chevron band, its angled form clean and architectural, designed to sit beautifully alone or stacked. From it, a faceted oval AAA grade natural citrine, cut to catch the light at every angle, is suspended in fine silver wire wrapping, hanging like a charm from the band. The effect is delicate and considered, the stone moves with you, catching light as it goes.
