I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Good craftsmanship rarely announces itself. It simply waits to be noticed.

Each drop of these earrings opens with a faceted amethyst stone, wire-wrapped by hand in gold vermeil. One of the most revered stones in the crystal healing tradition, amethyst works with the crown and third eye chakras, encouraging perspective, inner stillness, and a quieting of the overactive mind. The facets catch the light from multiple angles, drawing the deep violet of the stone to the surface with every movement. Gold vermeil micro accent beads sit either side of the wrap, framing the stone with a warm, considered finish.

Below, a mother of pearl heart, also wire-wrapped in gold vermeil, completes the drop. Mother of pearl is the iridescent inner lining of the mollusc shell, its surface shifting with the light from white to cream to the faintest blush of pink. It carries the energy of the ocean: calm, protective, and deeply intuitive. In the shape of a heart, it carries an additional resonance that feels deliberate rather than decorative.

The whole drop hangs from gold vermeil studs; sterling silver with a layer of 24 Karat gold, sitting flat against the ear and allowing the drop to move freely.
