I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Soft lavender purple brings a delicate character to this dual-ended Tanzanite ring, handcrafted in Sterling Silver. A graceful pear-cut Tanzanite crowns one end of the open band, while a round Tanzanite sits at the other, bringing two complementary shapes together in one fluid design.

The stones are lighter in tone, leaning towards lavender purple rather than a deeply saturated blue-violet. This gentler colouring gives the ring an understated elegance, beautifully complemented by the cool gleam of Sterling Silver. The contrasting stone shapes lend interest without overwhelming the softness of the gemstones, creating a distinctive piece to enjoy every day or wear for a special occasion.

Tanzanite’s rarity makes it especially treasured. Its only known source is the Merelani Hills of northern Tanzania, near Mount Kilimanjaro, giving this extraordinary gemstone a connection to one small corner of the Earth. Estimated to be around 1,000 times rarer than diamond, Tanzanite brings a remarkable sense of rarity to this individual piece.

Traditionally associated with intuition, reflection and transformation, Tanzanite carries symbolism connected with the third eye and crown chakras. In gemstone lore, it represents clarity, authentic self-expression and approaching new chapters with a sense of calm. These are spiritual and symbolic associations rather than medical properties.

The adjustable Sterling Silver band allows some flexibility in fit, while its open, dual-ended shape keeps both gemstones at the heart of the design. Handcrafted as a one-of-a-kind piece, this ring celebrates the individual beauty of its softer lavender-toned Tanzanites.
