I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Peach moonstone belongs to the feldspar family, forming in layered silicate structures that produce its most distinctive quality, adularescence, the soft billowing light that moves across the surface of the stone as it catches the light. In peach moonstone, this effect is warm rather than cool, the glow sitting somewhere between apricot and cream depending on the stone and the angle.

It is a stone long associated with intuition, emotional balance, and the quieter rhythms of feeling. Peach moonstone is said to work gently with the heart and sacral chakras, encouraging compassion, patience, and a softness towards oneself that is easy to overlook. It is thought to be particularly supportive during times of transition or emotional uncertainty.

This piece centres on a single peach moonstone orb, hand polished into a perfect sphere to draw out the stone's natural adularescence and the warm shifts in tone that make each one entirely its own. The rounded form catches light from every angle, the glow moving as you move.

Set in gold vermeil; sterling silver with a thick layer of 18 carat gold, the warmth of the setting complements the peachy tones of the stone without competing with it. Gold vermeil is chosen here for its quality and its longevity, a step above plated jewellery and a considered alternative to solid gold.

Finished on an 18 inch gold vermeil fine curb chain with a single gold vermeil accent bead, the necklace sits beautifully and works well alone or as part of a layered arrangement.
