I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Natural citrine is one of the most uplifting and energising stones in the mineral world. Unlike heat-treated citrine, which is widely sold but is simply amethyst that has been artificially altered,  natural citrine forms its warm golden-yellow hue through natural geological processes. It does not hold or accumulate negative energy, which means it never needs cleansing. It simply radiates.

Known as the merchant’s stone and the stone of abundance, natural citrine is associated with the solar plexus chakra, the seat of personal power, confidence, and creative energy. It is believed to attract prosperity, encourage optimism, and dissolve self-doubt, replacing stagnant energy with warmth, motivation, and a sustained sense of joy. It is a stone for those who wish to feel more fully alive to their own potential.

These earrings feature a drop of round natural citrine beads, their warm golden tones catching the light with a soft, glowing depth that shifts depending on the angle. Gold vermeil accent beads punctuate the design with small, precise details that complement the citrine without competing with it. The whole drop hangs from gold vermeil ball end earwires, a considered, polished finish that ties the warmth of the gold to the warmth of the stone.

Set in gold vermeil; sterling silver with a thick layer of 24 carat gold, chosen for its quality and its longevity, a step above plated jewellery and a considered alternative to solid gold.
