I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Six round freshwater pearls form a gentle curve at the centre of this necklace, punctuated by gold vermeil twist beads that catch the light. A fine gold vermeil trace chain extends from either side, bringing the necklace to approximately 16 inches in length.

Delicate yet distinctive, it would make beautiful bridal jewellery, adding a soft glow to a wedding-day look while remaining easy to wear long after the celebration.

Freshwater pearls form inside mussels, which build up layers of nacre around a small piece of introduced tissue over time. This gradual process gives each pearl its own subtle lustre and character. Pearls have long been associated with wisdom, serenity and new beginnings, giving this elegant piece a quietly meaningful touch.
