I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

A double-terminated crystal has a point at both ends, and it carries a different quality of energy: where a single-terminated crystal is said to direct energy in one direction, a double-terminated point both receives and transmits, working in two directions simultaneously. In crystal healing practice, this makes it one of the most dynamic and balanced forms a stone can take.

These earrings suspend a double-terminated amethyst point from each gold vermeil V shaped earwire, allowing the crystal to hang freely and move with the wearer. The gold vermeil wire complements the purple of the amethyst with warmth rather than competition, the two materials finding an easy balance.

Amethyst is one of the most widely revered stones in the crystal healing tradition. A variety of quartz coloured by iron and natural irradiation, its violet hue has long been associated with the crown and third eye chakras, with spiritual clarity, inner wisdom, and the quieting of an overactive mind.
