I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

This women’s stretch bracelet showcases high-grade Bolivian Amethyst, chosen for its beautiful purple colour, lovely clarity and distinctive natural character. Rainbow inclusions catch the light within the stones, revealing delicate flashes of colour that invite a closer look.

Bolivian Amethyst is highly regarded and sought after by gemstone enthusiasts, giving these substantial stones an appeal that goes beyond their beauty alone. Smooth round beads and softly rounded freeform ovals bring out the individuality of the gemstones, while Sterling Silver accents add a refined touch of light.

Bolivia produces a relatively small percentage of the world’s amethyst compared to Brazil, Zambia, and Uruguay.

Smooth 10mm round beads sit alongside softly rounded, oval freeform stones measuring approximately 10 × 13mm, creating a pleasing balance of symmetry and organic shape. Sterling Silver round beads add bright accents between the gemstones, complementing the purple tones with a refined finish.

Traditionally associated with calm, clarity and spiritual awareness, Amethyst is treasured as a symbol of balance and quiet strength. Here, its symbolic meaning accompanies the main attraction: the quality and individual character of the Bolivian stones themselves.
