I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

This is not a ring you simply wear — it is a ring you choose, again and again. Our dual-ended adjustable sterling silver Tanzanite ring is a rare feat of artisan design: one end crowned with a graceful pear-cut Tanzanite, its teardrop silhouette echoing the stone's natural elegance; the opposite end set with a perfectly round Tanzanite, bold and classic. Two expressions of the same extraordinary gem, worn together in a single, fluid band.

The colour is vivid and deeply saturated, a commanding velvety blue-violet that shifts with the quality of light, revealing flashes of indigo, periwinkle, and rich purple. This is Tanzanite at its finest: strong, alive, and utterly captivating.

Tanzanite is found in only one place on Earth, a single square mile at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Geologists estimate that the conditions required to form Tanzanite occurred just once, meaning the deposits are finite and actively diminishing with every year of mining. It is considered at least 1,000 times rarer than diamond, and no new source has ever been discovered. What exists is all there will ever be.

Tanzanite is closely associated with the third eye and crown chakras, supporting heightened intuition, spiritual clarity, and the alignment of heart and mind. It is said to ease major life transitions with calm and grace, to encourage authentic self-expression, and to dissolve feelings of overwhelm, replacing anxiety with a quiet, enduring sense of composure.
