I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

A raw pyrite stone sits at the centre of this distinctive ring, its metallic golden lustre framed by sterling silver. Encased in silver and set onto a sterling silver band, the stone retains the rough texture and irregular contours of a mineral specimen. Its sculptural character comes from that natural form, with warm gold tones contrasting beautifully against the cool silver.

Pyrite is an iron sulphide mineral, known for its bright, brass-like sheen and varied crystal formations. Sometimes called “fool’s gold”, it has a beauty and identity entirely its own. In this piece, its rough surface gives the stone a character that feels elemental and distinctive.

In crystal-healing traditions, pyrite is associated with protection, confidence and abundance. It is often regarded as a symbol of determination and inner strength, a reminder to recognise your own worth and approach new possibilities with courage.
