I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

A vivid rose-pink “floating petal” creates a striking focal point within this round rhodonite stone, set against a largely milky quartz matrix. This concentrated pocket of manganese-rich Rhodonite appears like a small blossom suspended within the pale stone, giving the pendant a beautifully individual character. Its bright pink colour is characteristic of the fine Peruvian Rhodonite chosen for this piece.

Sterling silver wire follows the stone’s contours, forming a central swirl that frames the pink petal and draws the eye towards its colour. Three tiny sterling silver beads lead upwards towards the bail, adding delicate detail without distracting from the stone. Paired with an 18-inch fine sterling silver curb chain, the pendant balances sculptural silverwork with the softness of its natural pink and milky-white tones.

In crystal traditions, Rhodonite is associated with compassion, emotional balance and forgiveness. Often chosen as a symbol of gentle resilience, it is said to encourage an open heart while offering a grounding reminder to meet difficult moments with patience and self-kindness. Quartz is traditionally associated with clarity and the amplification of intention, making this combination a meaningful symbol of compassion and thoughtful renewal. These associations are spiritual traditions rather than established healing effects.

The distinctive floating petal and the silverwork created especially to frame it make this a deeply personal, one-of-a-kind necklace, celebrating a small and remarkable detail formed by nature.
