I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Yellow tourmaline is among the rarer and more luminous varieties of tourmaline, its warm golden colour the result of iron present during crystallisation. Found in pegmatite formations across Brazil, Afghanistan, and parts of Africa, AAA grade stones are selected for exceptional clarity, depth of colour, and the quality of their cut; stones that reward close attention.

Yellow tourmaline works primarily with the solar plexus chakra, the seat of personal power, confidence, and will. It is said to strengthen a sense of self, to encourage clarity of purpose, and to support those who are stepping into new chapters or reclaiming their direction after a period of uncertainty. It carries an energising, optimistic quality, a stone associated with joy, abundance, and the courage to act on what matters.

The cross is one of the oldest and most universal symbols in human history, predating Christianity and appearing across cultures as a representation of the meeting point between heaven and earth, the spiritual and the physical, the eternal and the present moment.

Worn as jewellery, it carries a quiet weight, a reminder of something larger than the everyday, whatever that means to the person wearing it.

Set in sterling silver on an 18 inch flat cable chain. The cross sits at 2.7cm in length, bail included (2cm not included), a considered scale that wears close and quietly.
