I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Inspired by the rhythm of the tide meeting ancient shorelines, the Tidal Shore Drop Earrings are a handcrafted pair that captures the raw beauty of the ocean floor.

Each earring features a drop of smooth bamboo coral barrel beads, warm, earthy, and naturally striated, interspersed with vivid micro beads of genuine turquoise, their sky-meets-sea hue catching the light with every turn of the head. Delicate sterling silver accent beads punctuate the drop throughout, lending a refined luminosity that elevates this piece from casual to considered. The drop hangs from a sterling silver stud, clean and secure, keeping the focus on the movement and colour below. Sterling silver throughout.

Bamboo coral is a naturally occurring organic gemstone, associated with grounding energy, vitality, and a deep connection to the natural world. Its warm, blushed tones carry the warmth of living reefs and are said to encourage strength and resilience in those who wear it.

Turquoise is one of the oldest protective stones in history, revered across cultures as a talisman of good fortune, communication, and calm. Found in arid regions from the American Southwest to the mountains of Iran and Tibet, it forms through the slow percolation of water through copper-rich rock, its vivid blue-green hue the result of trace minerals laid down over millennia. No two stones are identical in tone or patterning. Linked to the throat chakra, turquoise is said to encourage authentic expression, clear communication, and a lasting sense of inner peace, a stone worn as much for what it means as for how it looks.

Sterling silver, a metal of clarity and reflection, amplifies the energetic properties of the stones it accompanies, bringing a grounding yet luminous quality to every piece it touches.
