Welcome to Rachel Hartley Atelier

I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Larimar is found in only one place on earth — a single mountainside in the Dominican Republic — making each stone a rare and irreplaceable piece of the natural world. Known as the "Atlantis Stone," it carries the soft, shifting blues of a tropical sea, ranging from pale sky to deep ocean depending on the light and the individual stone.

This cabochon has been hand-selected for its depth of colour and smooth, luminous surface. Larimar is a form of blue pectolite, its distinctive hue created by trace amounts of copper within the mineral — a geological accident that produces something quietly extraordinary.

Wire wrapped by hand in sterling silver, the setting follows the natural contours of the stone, holding it securely while allowing its full face to remain visible. The necklace is finished on an 18 inch sterling silver fine curb chain, a classic, lightweight length that sits beautifully.

The result is a piece that feels both ancient and considered — something to wear close and keep for a long time.
