I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Blue lace agate is a stone that asks nothing of you. Formed within volcanic rock over millions of years, it belongs to the chalcedony family; a microcrystalline variety of quartz, its characteristic banding created by successive layers of silica deposited slowly, over time. The result is a stone of extraordinary delicacy: soft, translucent bands of pale blue and white drifting through the surface like breath on cold air.

Its colour comes not from a single mineral but from the particular conditions of its formation, trace elements and temperature shifts that cannot be replicated. No two stones are identical. Each one is its own quiet record of the earth.

Blue lace agate has long been associated with calm and communication. It is said to work with the throat chakra, supporting clear, considered expression and easing the kind of anxiety that makes words difficult to find. Its energy is gentle rather than forceful, a stone for stillness, for clarity, for the moments when you need to feel settled in yourself.

This ring centres on a single circular blue lace agate cabochon, set in a polished sterling silver bezel that holds the stone securely while allowing its full face to remain visible. The band is adjustable, crafted in sterling silver, and shaped to sit comfortably across a range of finger sizes.
