I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Blue kyanite is one of the few minerals that neither accumulates nor retains negative energy.  It requires no cleansing, working quietly and continuously on its own. It forms as long, blade like crystals within metamorphic rock, its colour the result of iron and titanium present during formation, ranging from pale ice-blue to a deeper, more saturated indigo depending on the stone.

Kyanite has long been associated with clarity and calm. It is said to align all the chakras without effort, with a particular affinity for the throat, supporting honest communication, stillness in the mind, and a sense of inner equilibrium that is difficult to manufacture and easy to lose.

This piece features a natural blue kyanite heart carving set in sterling silver, suspended from a delicate 18 inch heart chain. Sterling silver accent beads frame the stone with small, considered details that let the kyanite remain the focus.

The result is a piece that carries something, a quietness and a steadiness that makes itself felt over time.
