I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Amethyst is one of the most recognised gemstones in the world, and one of the most consistently beautiful. Its colour ranges from the palest lilac to a deep, saturated violet, and the finest stones carry a richness that shifts with the light, cool and contemplative in shadow, vivid and luminous in direct sun. Raw amethyst, uncut and unpolished, retains the natural geometry of the crystal: the pointed terminations, the ridged surfaces, the sense of something pulled directly from the earth. No two raw stones are alike in form or tone. Each one is entirely its own.

Amethyst is associated with the crown and third eye chakras, and has been worn as a talisman of clarity, calm, and protection for thousands of years. It is considered a stone of the mind, one that quiets mental noise, supports clear thinking, and encourages a grounded sense of inner peace. It is said to ease anxiety, support restful sleep, and bring a quality of stillness to those who wear it. Its name derives from the ancient Greek word for ‘not intoxicated’, a reference to the belief that it protected its wearer from the effects of excess. It remains, in every sense, a stone of balance.

This bangle features two amethyst points, each hexagonal bezel set, their natural triangular terminations facing outward from opposite sides of the band; a considered, symmetrical placement that lets the crystal form speak for itself. The bezel setting holds each stone securely while keeping the full face of the point open and unobstructed. The band is open-ended and fully adjustable, shaped to sit comfortably across a range of wrist sizes, and designed to be worn at the wrist or slid higher up the arm depending on the mood and the moment. The metal base is plated with 1000 silver in a layer of 30 thousandths, free from cadmium, lead, and other heavy metals; the best quality plating available, ensuring excellent durability, strong resistance, and a finish that sits close to fine jewellery.
