Welcome to Rachel Hartley Atelier

I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Not all amethyst is equal. This bracelet is built around four beads that make that difference visible.

Bolivian amethyst carries a depth and richness of colour that sets it apart from the pale or uneven stones more commonly found in crystal jewellery. Its violet is saturated and consistent, the kind that draws the eye and holds it. Look closely and you will find something more: natural rainbow inclusions caught within the stone, fleeting prismatic light that shifts as the bracelet moves. It is the kind of detail that cannot be manufactured, only discovered. Each bead has the presence to be noticed individually, and together the four create a bracelet that is quietly striking, restrained in its design, generous in its quality.

Amethyst is one of the most revered stones in the crystal healing tradition, and one of the most ancient in human adornment. A variety of quartz coloured by iron and natural irradiation over millions of years, its violet hue has long been associated with wisdom, spiritual clarity, and the quieting of an overactive mind. It works with the crown and third eye chakras, encouraging perspective, inner stillness, and a gentle lifting of the mental fog that makes everything feel harder than it is. It is a stone for those who think too much and rest too little, one that asks the mind to slow down and the spirit to settle.

Selenite carries the bracelet between and around the amethyst with a different kind of light. Luminous and purifying, it is one of the few stones said to cleanse those around it, holding the energy of the whole piece in a state of clarity and calm. Its pale, almost translucent appearance creates a considered contrast with the deep violet of the amethyst; light and dark, stillness and depth, each making the other more itself. Its crown chakra energy deepens the amethyst's work, creating the mental stillness in which both peace and perspective can take root.

Together, amethyst and selenite form one of the most naturally complementary pairings in crystal healing, one deepening the other, both oriented towards the same quiet destination: a clearer mind, a calmer spirit, and a more settled sense of self.

Finished with copper accent beads, their warm, rosy tone a grounding counterpoint to the cool violet and white of the stones. In healing practice, copper is considered a conductor of energy, believed to amplify the properties of the stones it accompanies and support the smooth flow of energy through the body.

Strung on stretch cord with 8mm Bolivian amethyst beads and 6mm selenite beads, it is made to fit the average UK wrist size of 6.5 inches, easy to wear, and comfortable to keep on.
