I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Green tourmaline, also known as verdelite, is one of the most vibrant and energetically rich varieties of tourmaline. Found in pegmatite formations across Brazil, Afghanistan, and parts of Africa, its colour ranges from a fresh, bright mint to a deep forest green, the result of iron and chromium present during crystallisation.

AAA grade stones are selected for exceptional clarity, depth of colour, and the natural character of their faceting; stones that reward close attention.

Green tourmaline works primarily with the heart chakra, though its energy is distinct from the softer pink stones. Where pink tourmaline encourages inward compassion, green tourmaline is said to bring vitality, strength, and a grounded sense of renewal. It is associated with growth, courage, and the capacity to move forward with purpose. It is thought to support physical vitality and stamina, to encourage patience, and to help those who feel depleted or stuck reconnect with their own resilience; a stone of quiet, steady power.

This piece features a faceted AAA-grade green tourmaline measuring 9mm × 5mm, set onto a sterling silver band. The precision faceting draws out the stone's natural depth and brilliance, catching the light with every movement.
