Welcome to Rachel Hartley Atelier

I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Amethyst is one of the most recognisable gemstones in the world. A variety of quartz, it forms when silicon dioxide crystallises in the presence of iron and natural irradiation over millions of years, that process is what gives amethyst its extraordinary range of tone, from the palest lavender to the richest, almost inky purple. Each faceted bead carries its own depth of colour and its own quality of light.

Amethyst has been prized since antiquity, worn by royalty and clergy alike for its depth of colour and its association with clarity of mind. It is said to work with the third eye and crown chakras, calming an overactive mind, supporting restful sleep, and encouraging a quiet, considered perspective. It is one of the most enduring stones in jewellery for good reason.

The hamsa hand is one of the oldest protective symbols in the world, found across Middle Eastern, North African, and Mediterranean cultures for thousands of years. Representing the open hand of protection, it is worn as a talisman against negative energy and as a symbol of strength, blessing, and good fortune. It is a symbol that carries meaning across traditions and borders, and has done so for millennia.

These earrings feature gold vermeil hamsa hand charms, each with a drop detail of faceted amethyst beads and gold vermeil accent beads suspended below. The faceted amethyst catches the light with every movement, the deep purple shifting against the warm gold of the vermeil in a pairing that is both striking and considered. The whole design hangs from gold vermeil V-shaped earwires, a clean, elegant finish that keeps the focus on the charm and the drop.

Set in gold vermeil; sterling silver with a thick layer of 24K gold, chosen for its quality and its longevity, a step above plated jewellery and a considered alternative to solid gold.

Handcrafted at Rachel Hartley Atelier. Arrives gift-ready.
