I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

Pink tourmaline is a stone of remarkable range. A member of the tourmaline group, one of the most chemically complex mineral families on earth. It's colour is produced by trace amounts of manganese within the crystal structure, a small shift in chemistry that yields everything from the palest blush to a deep, saturated rose. It forms in pegmatite rock, growing slowly in conditions of intense heat and pressure, which is perhaps why it carries such a concentrated energy.

Raw tourmaline, uncut and unpolished, retains the natural geometry of the crystal, the striations along its length, the rough, honest surface, the sense of something pulled directly from the earth. No two raw stones are alike in form or tone. Each one is entirely its own.

Pink tourmaline has long been associated with the heart chakra. It is said to carry a warm, compassionate energy, one that encourages emotional healing, self-love, and a gentle opening to connection. Where rose quartz soothes, pink tourmaline is thought to activate: drawing in love, dissolving old emotional patterns, and supporting the kind of quiet courage it takes to feel things fully. It is a stone for tenderness without fragility.

This bangle features two raw pink tourmaline crystals, each set in claw settings that hold the stones securely while preserving their natural, unworked form. The settings sit directly onto the band, bringing the stones close to the skin and allowing their energy and their colour to remain the focus of the piece. The band is open-ended and fully adjustable, shaped to sit comfortably across a range of wrist sizes, and designed to be worn at the wrist or slid higher up the arm depending on the mood and the moment. The brass base is finished with an 18 karat gold plate, free from cadmium and lead, with excellent durability and a fine jewellery finish.

The result is a piece that feels both elemental and refined, raw material held in considered metalwork, worn as an everyday talisman or saved for when it matters.
