Welcome to Rachel Hartley Atelier

I am delighted to introduce my new home for handcrafted artisan gemstone jewellery, where every piece is created with intention, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for the natural beauty of exceptional gemstones.

I’m Rachel Hartley, founder and jewellery designer of Rachel Hartley Atelier. With years of experience studying and working with the healing properties and energy of crystals, my knowledge of gemstone selection extends beyond aesthetics. Each stone is chosen not only for its beauty and individuality, but also for the qualities it is believed to embody.

Every design begins with the gemstone. I work with carefully selected stones, combining them with sterling silver, gold vermeil, and copper to create jewellery that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Each piece is handcrafted in my studio with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every creation reflects the care, skill, and intention invested in its making. This is not mass-produced jewellery. It is created slowly, one piece at a time, for those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and meaningful design.

A faceted red garnet set at one end of an open sterling silver band, the opposite end left deliberately unfinished, allowing the ring to be gently adjusted to fit.

Garnet is one of the oldest and most widely used gemstones in the world, found across India, Africa, Brazil, and Sri Lanka. Its deep, rich red colour, the result of iron and aluminium present during crystallisation, has made it a stone of passion, protection, and vitality for thousands of years.

Garnet works primarily with the root and heart chakras, grounding the wearer while simultaneously opening the heart. It is one of the most energising of the red stones, said to revitalise, to restore depleted energy, and to inspire a sense of commitment and devotion. It is associated with passion, courage, and the kind of love that is steady rather than fleeting, and is thought to support those moving through periods of low energy or stagnation, encouraging them to reconnect with what matters and move forward with renewed purpose.

The faceted stone draws out the full depth of the garnet’s colour, its planes and angles scattering light with a warm, refractive brilliance that shifts with every movement. The open band design gives the ring a clean, sculptural quality, minimal in form, considered in detail.

One size, adjustable.
